Charlotte’s Turtle neck Poncho
Charlotte’s Rootz is ATEA’s first apparel collection, named for Salote, Endilla’s mother, whose name is Tongan for Charlotte, and for Charlotte, North Carolina, where Endilla served her mission from 2012 to 2014.
The word Rootz represents Salote’s era, upbringing, and who she is, as well as everything she taught Endilla that became rooted within her. It reflects faith, discipline, culture, and the foundation passed from mother to daughter.
The collection incorporates tribal patterns inspired by tapa cloth, a material deeply connected to Salote and her family. Salote is one of the pounders involved in the tapa-making process, and the use of tapa-inspired designs serves as a direct representation of her culture and lived contribution to preserving it.
During a defining period in Endilla’s life, when Salote faced a serious heart surgery, Endilla turned fully to God through prayer, fasting, and deep study of the scriptures. That experience marked the first time Endilla consciously planted her faith and developed a testimony of her own.
Endilla chose to serve a mission so she could share what she had come to know — that God lives, that faith invites miracles, and that strength is found through seeking Him. Those experiences form the foundation of Charlotte’s Rootz, where faith, culture, endurance, and growth are expressed uniquely through each design.
This flowy turtleneck top is designed with a relaxed silhouette that moves effortlessly with the body. Lightweight and breathable, it offers comfort without losing structure, making it suitable for extended wear in warm climates or layered styling in cooler settings.
The turtleneck neckline adds definition and polish while maintaining a modest, refined look. The fabric features a subtle vertical texture that creates natural movement and dimension without stiffness or bulk.
Designed to pair easily with fitted bottoms, this top transitions seamlessly from everyday wear to more elevated occasions. It reflects the balance of intention and ease that defines the Charlotte’s Rootz collection.
